 1. Go for the freebies

Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator are the most common browsers. Both companies used to offer free WebPage editors.

My recommendation:

If you can, go for:

1st Page 2000

Available from www.evrsoft.com

This is produced in Queensland, Australia. It looks like the professional HomeSite editor but has lots of free JavaScripts (scripts to automate neat Web tricks).

Alternatively:

Note Tab Light

This is a very powerful and intuitive text editor that will simplify HTML (Webcode) editing for you. It is also free.

Find it at www.notetab.com.

 2. Don't use top-of-the-line Browser specific instructions

 3. Check out the opposition

 5. Repeat images

 6. Don't forget to provide alternatives to the images

 7. Careful with those videos
